INTRODUCTION

According to Lee and the colleagues (2014), running for 5 to 10 minutes a day at slow speeds is enough to extend life by several years, compared with not running at all. In fact, being a regular runner can gain “a mood elevating, quality-of-life benefit”. On the other hand, Junior and his team (2015) found that endurance running was beneficial for physically inactive adults thus express their support to invest in running programs.

Based on the aforementioned reasons, Economics Students’ Society (ECONSS) in collaboration with Entrepreneurship Club (ENTREC) would like to conduct IIUM Campus Run 2019 to promote a healthy lifestyle among IIUM community and the public.

OBJECTIVES

  • To promote a healthy lifestyle among IIUM Kuantan community and the public.

  • To train IIUM students on how to organize a high-impact event that is in line with IIUM’s vision and mission.

  • To foster community engagement among IIUM students.
